A well-developed assignment elicits better student writing and is easier for professors to assess. The Center for Writing-based Learning has sample writing assignments and ideas for crafting such well-developed assignments. This growing collection is available under "Faculty Services."

Also, Matthew Pearson, Assistant Director for Faculty Services in the Center for Writing-based Learning, is available to meet with individual faculty members to revamp existing course assignments or design new writing assignments.
